The two works presented here describe the Island Mansion of Jehren Vilreth, an exiled master of the Art of writing, and his secret experiments on Vilreth Island Mansion. He wrote many Journals, however five contain the most important entries, and they will be presented here as translations allow. The Safe Room, the place where Jehren kept all of his treasures and collections, lies below the Mansion, and can only be reached by a link. Both of these works can be found in the Safe Room.
The Safe Room Book of Commentary
{Age commentary written Sept 20, 2011 by Stranger}
As far as we can tell, this "Safe Room" was used as a remote storage area, accessible only by a link. It contains many odd relics, Books, Journals, and collections of items that were used throughout the Mansion above you. We have cleared some of the damaged items in the Room, and moved them to the Crystal Storage Unit on the other side of this Island.
You will notice the three Doors here are locked - there are detailed alcoves beyond those Doors, but they have incurred damage with time, and for the time being must remain locked for safety. Until we can fully secure all areas of the Mansion, some portions must remain off limits. We cannot risk having anything disturbed while we are completing our restorations. Still, we have left much here to discover.
The Island Map in the gold frame at the back of the room is a new addition; it was found in the Mansion above, amongst the blueprints and diagrams in the Lab. The intuitive explorer would do well to take note of this map. It is not seen elsewhere. It is complete, and each location is included.
You will also notice the locked Book pedestal in the center of the room. The Book that is contained within it holds a new Age, and it is in that Age that your Journey continues to unfold.
The pedestal is secured by a 5 digit symbol sequence. If one searches closely, it can be obtained. Remember to look everywhere, as clues abound. Once the correct sequence has been entered into the locked pedestal, the Age within will be yours to explore.
It may chance that during your Journey, you will return here to this Island. The persistent can gain access to the Mansion above, but in order to do this, one must pass beyond additional security features that have been implemented. The means of passing through those security features can be found in various locations along your Journey.
Of the mysterious Age that lies within the locked pedestal here, I can say no more, save that it is your door to greater horizons. Many wonderful surprises await you here, there, and beyond.
And, there are other Ages to be explored - Ages and secrets locked away in time. If you look closely, you will discover them all, and if you are willing to reach for the unknown, it will find you beyond these doors, explorer. Secrets await - welcome to the Safe Room beneath Vilreth Island Mansion.

Jehren's Journal - I
{translated from the D'ni journal entries of Jehren Vilreth by Stranger}
I
At last, I have found a place I can rest. I have been on the move for quite some time now, hiding amongst the shadows, hoping I wouldn't be found-these things had become a way of life for me since my exile from the Cavern, but no more. Here on the Island, I am safe and hidden from the others; they cannot find this place. This place far out in the Cavern will serve well for my plans. Seven of my closest acolytes and myself have landed here after a long trek across the Lake; through the dark, water-filled passageway we discovered this hidden refuge. We've sat up a temporary encampment here on the southern bank of the island. Tomorrow, after I finish unloading the collections and Books I have brought with me, I'll write more.
II
I've decided to set right to work. It seems that there is much here to be discovered and utilized. I sent three of my acolytes out to various points on the island to collect samples and observe each area for potential utilization. All three returned with positive reports; first, there is a solid granite plateau directly in the center of the island, and in the center of the plateau a massive drip stone deposit unlike any I have observed in the Cavern. The drip stone will be perfect for constructing the manor, and we should be able to work into it without much effort. We will begin construction of the manor there tomorrow. I have brought along Router, the stone cutter I designed and perfected, and it will prove useful in the coming weeks of construction.
Second, we have found an underground cave system beneath the drip stone deposit. These caves are filled with rare crystals and minerals, many the likes of which i have not seen in D'ni. These will prove very useful in my experiments, since I have need of materials now that I am away from D'ni.
We have also discovered a small magma well just beyond the drip stone formation. This well will provide me with enough heat to power Cloudbringer, the steam generator I used back in D'ni in the old laboratory. With steam power, I will be able to operate the book press and my work can continue without restrictions.
III
Construction is complete, and we have a wonderful place here to call our own. One free from oppression and obstacles. The Mansion , although very organic in style, is not as big as I had first planned it to be, but it is breathtaking - my acolytes are skilled, and the new off worlders I have taken in are even more talented stone workers. The drip stone was worked very easily into smooth blocks and sheets, and it has proven to be a very effective material. We have erected two columns, and these are the centerpiece of our construction. I've made sure to use the small space on the Island as wisely as necessary, and I've also added a Library, and a Safe Room. Soon, we will begin moving the many hundreds of Books and artifacts I have in from the main encampment, and perhaps then I can settle in to other pressing affairs.
IV
It's been two weeks, and the Library is finally organized. There's lots of space left, but I intend to add more as time passes. I've moved my collections, as well as the stone cutter Router to the Safe Room. I've ordered the construction of a steam plate over the magma well so I can position Cloudbringer over it. At the moment, the Mansion is only lit by flame and the light shining from the Lake - soon I'll be able to generate enough power to supply the Mansion with the correct lighting, and then we will begin adding the details.
V
The Book press works well, and I should be able to gather enough materials from the other Ages to accommodate the manufacture of usable Books for my experiments. We have installed lamps in the dim areas of the Mansion. Both my acolytes and myself are pleased with what we have been able to accomplish here in this hidden place, in just a month's time. I'll be directing most of my attention to the reconstruction of Cloudbringer and getting the Lab sat up. Today, one of my acolytes began drawing up plans for a Dockhouse on the south bank, in the area where we first landed. Even though I have been exiled, I think about D'ni. I learned much there, and even crossed the lawful bounds of the Great Art, delving into unsanctioned experiments. Many of my trials would have proved quite useful, but in the end, the laws of the Art must be kept, and so I was banished. However here on the Island of Vilreth, I can continue my research undisturbed, and I have my acolytes to assist me. When I have everything in place in the Lab and the Workshop, we will commence our work once again.
